A few years ago, son Damián took off with Sylvie Meis. She tells how hard this was for her.
At some point the little ones grow up and become fledged, that is just part of life. For Sylvie Meis (47), this experience was not easy, like her. That is precisely why she was so enthusiastic about the recent vacation on the Balearic Islands with her son Damián, who is now 19 years old.
Damián van der Vaart moved to his father, the former football professional Rafael van der Vaart (42), to drive his own football career several years ago. He currently plays for the club Ajax Amsterdam and therefore also lives in the capital of the Netherlands. “I enjoyed the time with him in Ibiza,” Meis now tells the broadcaster at an event in Berlin. “Fortunately, we play almost every day, but still: to go on vacation with his child is the most beautiful ever.”
Extract from Sylvie Meis’ son was very bad
The love for her son seems infinite. “He is mine,” enthuses the moderator, who is also known as a model. She chose similar words. For example, Meis wrote for common pictures from vacation: “Ibiza vacation with my one and everything.” There was also a heart emoji from the proud mother.
It was bad when the son moved to his dad, she now tells the broadcaster. “It is really intense for a mom to realize that everyday life will no longer come back.” Sylvie Meis was “very emotional” and therefore she has always “cried” a bit for several weeks when she ran past her son’s old room.
Sylvie Meis and her ex-husband Rafael van der Vaart were married from 2005 to 2013, so there have been no couple for over ten years. But there is also a completely different man in her life, her friend Patrick. He accompanied the moderator to the event in Berlin, but preferred to stay away from the red carpet in the background. Meis apparently did not report much about her relationship at the event, but she assured radiantly: “I am very, very happy.”
