Kacey Musgraves broke a rib in Mexico and therefore has to postpone a planned public appearance in Nashville.
A Mexico trip ended painfully in the hospital for country star Kacey Musgraves (36). The 36-year-old Grammy winner suffered a rib fracture in a violent fall and then had to cancel a long planned podcast appearance in Nashville.
The accident occurred on Wednesday evening during a rain shower, as Musgraves told her fans. “I am in Mexico with a damn broken rib,” the singer wrote to an X -ray of her chest. She explained the dramatic course: “It rained on Wednesday evening and I ran to get towels when I had an extremely hard fall on very smooth tiles that I didn’t see.”
Fortunately, no head injury
The impact was violent: Musgraves landed hard on the left chest and broke the sixth rib. “Fortunately, I didn’t strike my head, but I fell very hard on my rear left chest,” said the “Golden Hour” interpreter the painful moment.
The injury turned out to be so serious that a return trip to the USA is out of the question for the time being. “This is not a joke. I have severe pain and every movement is extremely difficult,” Musgraves reported unadorned about her condition. Especially bitter: The singer had to cancel a special appearance that she had been looking forward to for months.
For the “Sing for Science” podcast, she should speak in the Ryman Auditorium with mushroom expert Paul Stamets (69), according to the event description on the topic “The Magic of Mushrooms”. “There is no physical way to get on a plane and fly back to Nashville,” said Musgraves disappointed. The event has now been postponed to September 18, already bought tickets are valid.
