Mineral water of the brands “Gut & cheap” and “naturalis” could be contaminated with bacteria. The manufacturer therefore warns of the water that often sell discounters.
Roxane GmbH from Jessen (Saxony-Anhalt) is calling for mineral water from the brands “Gut & cheap” and “naturalis” in the medium, classic and still in various packaging sizes. The goods are mainly on offer at Edeka, Marktkauf and Netto brand-discount nationwide with the exception of the Saarland. On Wednesday, the Portal Food Warung.de and the consumer organization Foodwatch informed. The company was initially unavailable for comment.
“Bacterial contamination was found in the context of routine controls. This can lead to health impairments. For reasons of preventive consumer protection, it is therefore urgently advised to consume the product,” said Roxane recall. The company and the trading companies concerned would have reacted immediately and immediately removed the goods.
Foodwatch moved parallels to a mineral water scandal in France. “Because Roxane belongs to the Alma Group – the group that is currently on trial in France because of the illegal filtering of germ -loaded mineral water,” it said. Foodwatch asked Roxane and the responsible German food authorities to make all information about the recall public. In particular, all measurements of Roxane Brunnen in Germany would have to be published.
Recall of mineral water due to germs
Since mineral water varieties with very different minimum preservation data are affected by the recall, Foodwatch suspected that the problem of impurities could have existed for a long time.
The federal states or the Federal Office for Consumer Protection and Food Safety publish public reports and information on food warning.de.
