Compared to others, there is great carefree in this country in the protection of young people against alcohol. Only a single country in Central America takes it similarly.
According to the youth protection law, young people from the age of 14 have so far been allowed to drink beer, wine or sparkling wine – i.e. sparkling wine. If a “Personal” is there. The Federal Drug Commissioner Hendrik Streeck is now in favor of stricter alcohol rules in petrol stations and supermarkets. “One way would be to remove alcohol from supermarket coffers in the so -called Quengelgasse”said the CDU politician in an interview with the “Frankfurter Rundschau”. Also must “The accompanied drink from 14 because it is harmful to children and young people”Streeck continued.
Other countries handle that a lot rigorously. Alcohol purchase and consumption for all nationals and/or Muslims are completely prohibited, for example in Afghanistan, Iran and Saudi Arabia. If you violate this, you can get into prison. In India, too, depending on the state, there is either a complete ban or the age limit is comparatively high. In the capital Neu-Delhi, for example, at 25 years. In general, there is no state in Asia in which you can legally get alcohol as an under 18.
Nicaragua in alcohol for young people as loose as Germany
In North, South and Central America, too, in addition to Nicaragua (alcohol from the age of 14 in the restaurant), only Barbados, Grenada, St. Nevis and St. Kitts, each with 16 years, make the minimum age of the otherwise applicable 18 to 21 years.
And in Africa? Here, several states have no laws at all that regulate the protection of young people from alcohol. The earliest is allowed to drink teenagers in Gambia (16), the latest the residents of Eritrea (25).
With our neighbors in Denmark you can buy legally wine and beer from the age of 16. In France, too, you can drink – accompanied by the parents – from 16. The same applies in Great Britain, Switzerland and Austria. In Italy and Spain, however, minors are not allowed to buy alcohol at all.
However, Streeck’s statements promptly met with rejection at the petrol station interest association (Tiv). If the sale of alcohol at the petrol station is restricted, customers simply gave way to long -open supermarkets and then probably bought even larger containers there, it said at the request of the news agency dpa. The interest association also pointed out that the protection of minors at petrol stations is kept particularly strictly and warned of economic consequences: “All sales that are deducted there promote an already creeping die of petrol station.”
