A box, five functions: Capsello is intended to end the hygienic dilemma of toothbrushes on trips. The star has tested the DHDL tool for better oral hygiene.
A toothbrush belongs in every luggage. No matter how long you’ve been on the go. There are no two opinions about this. But where with the brush head, which cleans your teeth every day, is almost always moist and is full of bacteria? Small plastic caps can help. But they are not really practical. This also found dentist Christian Flasch when he was again unsuccessfully looking for a shelf for his toothbrush in the hotel bath. His inventor was awakened and flashing developed a dismantled storage and travel box for toothbrushes: Capsello. In the VOX founder show “The Lion’s Cave”, five investors feel on the tooth for the 55-year-old founder. Flasch hopes for a lavish investment. The star tested Capsello.
Capsello from DHDL: idea and first impression
Flasch wants to solve several problems. In the first place the hygienic dilemma when the toothbrush rolls out in the cultural bag without protection and the bacteria can spread happily. The travel box is also not allowed to be completed so that the damp bristles are ventilated and no waterlogging forms. To do this, the case should have a practical size and also find space in small cultural bags. As an extra, Flasch has integrated a mini mixer for disinfecting the bristles.
Capsello comes in a simple cardboard box and without instructions. That is not necessary either. The most important information and functions can be read on the box. The black box and a wall bracket slide out of the box. The five individual parts made of plastic are not screwed, but are put together. is cleaned and makes a stable impression. It is 23 centimeters high and has a diameter of four centimeters. That appears and initially quite large. The kit can be quickly broken down into its individual parts and put together again. Without a brush, Capsello is a bit rickety, which apparently has to do with ventilation of the box.
The test
We used a classic hand toothbrush for the test. After cleaning, it was rinsed out under running water and stowed in the box when damp. So far so unspectacular. First finding: brush and brush head are protected. Second finding: As expected, the moisture is settled on the inside of the transparent cylinder. So if you make the brush ready to clean after cleaning, you should free it from the cylinder on arrival at home or at the holiday destination so that you can dry clean. After a few minutes, the water gathered in the blue bowl, which was still on the handle after cleaning. If the brush is not rinsed clean, toothpaste residues also end up in the collecting container. According to the inventor’s idea, it serves to disinfect the brush head. In order for this to work hygienically, it is all the more important to clean the toothbrush thoroughly after each cleaning and to free toothpaste.
As a mug of rinsing the mouth, the Capsello attachment fulfills its purpose. Much does not fit in, but it is enough to rinse. The cylinder also rattles in the brush box with a toothbrush. The plug connection also withstands strong shaking. Christian Flasch designed the ground as a kind of Easter Egg. The small black bowl is about one centimeter deep and should serve as storage for unusual milk teeth or small jewelry parts such as earrings. Well. We find the wall bracket for the home bathroom, which works with adhesive strips. However, it also means: Think exactly where Capsello should find its place in the future. There is no second attempt.
The conclusion
With the “5 in 1” button, the manufacturer of Capsello advertises on the packaging. With three of the five points, we were able to fully make friends in the test. The bracket for the wall is undoubtedly practical. The travel case is well processed, can be easily closed and opened and protects the brush with a brush head, even if Capsello falls down. The mouthwash cup is also a smart integrated additional function. The bowl for disinfecting the toothbrush was less enthusiastic. It caught the residual water after cleaning in the test. If you don’t clean the brush thoroughly under running water, you can quickly have annoying toothpaste residues in the bowl. We think even less from the mini storage in the soil of Capsello. The idea of stowing milk teeth or small jewelry is well meant. She didn’t convince us.
Overall, Christian Flasch has implemented his vision of a neatly kept toothbrush for on the go. From our point of view, 15 euros for six plastic parts are a little too high, especially since a four-member family of Capsello in a pack of 4 needs. We also find them a little too bulky with a length of 23 centimeters. In our view, it is too big for smaller cultural bags.
Christian Flasch venture into “the lion’s cave” with Capsello. He has 20 percent shares in his company in his luggage. On September 1st from 8:15 p.m., you will find out whether the toothbrush box is worth an investment of 80,000 euros on VOX or since August 25th on RTL+.
