They run faster, continue jumping, striking harder – the best athletes in the world show the great achievements of the human body – or at least some human bodies – is able. One could even hover like a butterfly and sting like a bee. At least that’s how Muhammad Ali described himself and he has become a boxing champion three times. With his style he changed the whole sport. Today Ali is considered a century athlete and one of the largest, if not the greatest boxer ever.



Then there would be someone like Jonas Deichmann. The German swum 3.8 kilometers, ran 180 kilometers of bike and ran 42.195 kilometers – every day, 120 days. The extreme athlete has thus completed an Ironman on 120 consecutive days. That is overall 456 kilometers of swimming, 21,600 kilometers of cycling and 5063 kilometers running. That has made him a record holder since 2024. Record holder is also a heptathlon Jackie Joyner-Kersee since the Olympic Games in Seoul in 1988. There she showed a performance that no other athlete has been able to call up since then. She reached 7291 points – world record to this day.
