We are complaining of around 300 deaths per day. And at this point in time there is also no clear indication that this situation would suggest that this situation will improve in the short term It could even be that the incidence will stabilize a bit, but the number of deaths will increase in the next few weeks. At least that cannot be ruled out. It is therefore a situation that is extremely unsatisfactory. We have gotten into a situation where we can’t just wait and see when this will all end? This attitude, we’ll wait until the weather gets better and then it’ll all end at some point, that’s not enough In these last few weeks, before the incidences are likely to actually drop due to better weather, we have to become active again, we have to do something again. You can’t leave it as it is now. Those who have not been vaccinated must realize that at this point in time they can hardly avoid being infected. We have such a high number of cases that everyone who is not vaccinated now must expect to become infected in the next few days. Unfortunately that is the situation. You can hardly avoid the infection at the moment. And there are numerous unvaccinated people who are at risk. For example, the unvaccinated over 60, the unvaccinated who have risk factors, the unvaccinated who have an immune deficiency, the unvaccinated who have a pre-existing condition. In my view, all these immunocompromised or older unvaccinated people must now be vaccinated.”
