A woman has had a stomach ache after eating for decades. A doctor discovers how her conscious diet is related.
A 70 year old woman has had abdominal pain for 20 years. They appear after every meal and only go away in the evening when she lies down. Several food intolerances and allergies have already been identified in the patient. In recent years she tried a lot to avoid the stabbing pain: She took lactase tablets, had her bowels flushed and tried various diets – but the pain remained.
When the patient develops an itchy rash on her arms, she tries in vain to use other means to combat it. The food diary that she keeps puts the attending physician on the right track: the woman suffers from an intolerance that only affects a few people.
