In the United States, the Medicines Agency has determined that the Biontech / Pfizer vaccine is booster approved. This applies to people over the age of 65, to adults at high risk of a serious illness and to people in jobs with a high risk of infection. They can have a third dose injected six months after the second vaccination. The FDA includes those at high risk of infection including healthcare workers, teachers, grocery store workers, and workers in homeless shelters or prisons. It is still unclear when recipients of the Moderna and Johnson & Johnson vaccines will be eligible for a booster vaccination.
