First came the pain, then her legs gave out: Angela Brauer despaired in the first years after being diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. Until she realized she couldn’t rely on medication alone. Everything got better when she completely changed her life. The disease no longer had her under control – she reclaimed her freedom.
Some tattoos have a meaning that can only be understood by those who know the history behind them. Like Angela Brauer’s tattoo. Five squiggly digits and a comma are tattooed in dark gray on her right forearm: 42,195. It quickly becomes clear that this is the mileage of a marathon. But for Angela it was no ordinary marathon. Your tattoo is much more than the culmination of a sporting achievement. It is a symbol of patience and perseverance. And for the fact that she managed to learn from an illness that forced her into a wheelchair.
