It’s windy and cold outside, and it gets dark a lot earlier in the evening. Autumn is just arriving in Germany. For many, that’s reason enough to sit on the couch instead of putting on your running shoes. Understandable. But the human body needs regular exercise, otherwise it will not function properly.
More than ever, it is now a question of having the right equipment. There is now a large number of so-called functional clothing. But beginners in particular are often faced with the question: What do I really need? And above all: What can I do without without any problems?
The advice is here: less is more. The temptation is of course great to put on many layers on top of each other and to keep yourself nice and warm. But: You overheat quickly and the run becomes a sauna session. It is better to combine thin and breathable layers. They move the moisture away from the body and you don’t cool down so quickly. In addition, you should always remember if you may get a little cold at the start, while running you quickly get warm.
Treadmills can be a great alternative.
If you want to find out more about running and training in autumn, you should definitely listen to the new episode of the podcast “She runs. He runs”. Because in it we deal intensively with the question of how it works best. We share a lot of tips and tell about our experiences. We’ll also talk about the alternatives to training outdoors. To do this, we also looked at the latest scientific findings about treadmills and the like. Because as I said: our body needs exercise – it doesn’t care whether it is autumn or not. Only properly exercised will he stay healthy. And especially in the gray autumn it is important that both the immune system and the psyche benefit enormously from regular training.
