Diagnosis: High intraocular pressure and restricted vision

A woman has eye pain from increased intraocular pressure. She tries to help herself with pills – with drastic consequences.

Sometimes patients come to the eye clinic so late that we can hardly help them. This is what happened to a woman who visited our outpatient clinic in the spring. The woman in her mid-fifties told me that she had been suffering from severe pain in her right eye for a month. So she took ibuprofen pills. She had also been infected with the corona virus, spent a few days in isolation and was therefore unable to see an ophthalmologist, although she had noticed that her vision was getting worse.
