We often feel a pimple before it becomes visible. To counteract the inflammation, quick action is required. Because the sooner you treat skin blemishes, the milder it will be. Isolated pimples can be reduced selectively, for example, with so-called patches.
The word “patch” comes from English and simply means “plaster”. There are different sizes for the targeted treatment of smaller and larger pimples. They are stuck directly over the burgeoning inflammation and should (according to the manufacturer) absorb skin impurities and thus ensure a mild course. In addition, the pimple patches are supposed to prevent you from squeezing the affected area – thereby protecting the wound from bacteria. And that is by no means all of the advantages.
The benefits of pimple patches
So-called hydrocolloids have been used in medicine for a long time – in the form of wound dressings for accelerated healing. The same reason will be with many Hydrocolloid dressings are used to literally absorb skin impurities (especially pus) and thus alleviate inflammation. The wound healing is accelerated accordingly. It is therefore important to choose a suitable size for each treatment so that the pimple is covered but the rest of the skin can still breathe. Another advantage is that the transparent plasters are barely visible and can be used at any time during the day – even when you are out and about. Isolated pimples are treated selectively, gently and quickly without drying out the skin. In addition, the application of c Acne scars are counteracted.
Important NOTE: Most products do not contain sulfates or parabens, alcohol or perfume. However, the pimple patches can cause skin irritation if you are allergic to any of the ingredients. Read these carefully before applying.
Applying pimple patches properly
Before you stick the patch on the (emerging) pimple, you should follow the steps below:
- Step: Cleanse your face with a mild cleansing gel. This will free the affected area from dirt and grease residues.
- Step: If your skin is prone to blemished skin, peeling your face won’t do any harm – ideally with a product that contains salicylic acid.
- Step: Now solve the carefully from the foil and then place it on the desired area of skin.
- Step: Leave the patch on for at least six hours, ideally overnight, and remove it the next morning.
- Step: Then treat your skin as usual – if you wear the pimple patches during the day, you can still put on make-up.
And another note: Pimple patches are suitable for all skin types. However, since they can also absorb excess sebum, the treatment should primarily benefit those who tend to have oily or blemished skin. However, if you suffer from hormonal acne, its use is not recommended.
