At the beginning of July there was a mistake in the Bremen vaccination center that could mean that more than 200 people would have to get vaccinated again. As the health department of the Hanseatic city announced, needles and syringes were combined incorrectly, so that a remainder of the vaccine remained in the syringe.
Old material used with new one
According to the health department, existing work material was combined with new material, but this was not permitted. The authorities have not yet reported on why this error could happen and how the vaccination center became aware of it.
Affected people may need to be re-vaccinated
All affected people have already been informed in a letter from the vaccination center. You can now call a hotline and make an appointment there at the vaccination center. According to the health department, this medical consultation should clarify whether a re-vaccination is necessary. This depends on factors such as age, state of health, previous illnesses or medication intake. The re-vaccination would then be done three weeks later.
