2,000 tourists and 1,000 employees are currently stuck on a cruise ship off the East African island of Mauritius – due to suspicions of a possible cholera outbreak on board. On Tuesday, results of laboratory tests will provide clarity as to whether the passengers’ diarrhea is really caused by the bacterium Vibrio cholerae. But the assumption alone is enough to attract worldwide attention. Those affected have to fear unpleasant, but probably not life-threatening, situations. You will be well looked after.
