The competitive athlete and TV presenter Anna Kraft kept quiet about her multiple sclerosis for a long time. Now she speaks openly about it because she wants to show how it is possible to accept a chronic illness.
Minutes recorded by Claudia Minner
At first I thought it was a pinched nerve. I was at my hairdresser’s when my right leg suddenly started to tingle, as if it had gone to sleep. At first I didn’t think that was unusual, after all I had been sitting on the chair for quite a long time. But even on the way home the tingling continued and my leg wasn’t really doing what I wanted it to. Everything from my hips down felt pretty strange. What was wrong with me? At home I took a hot shower, which had always helped me up until then. This time it was different. In the shower I realized that the right side of my body was numb. I couldn’t feel the hot water anymore!
