First, a few less than uplifting words: the poet Dante Alighieri described middle age as hell; in the Divine Comedy, he chose the metaphor of a dark forest in which someone has lost his way. A grim idea. And the psychoanalyst CG Jung concluded that the second half of life cannot be lived according to the model of the first, and thus threatened to reorient oneself. Many people slide into crises during this huge period of upheaval: they leave their families, quit their jobs or look for a new path in life with younger partners.
