Corona: RKI reports 34,145 new corona infections – incidence at 528.2

The incidence value for new corona infections has reached another high. The RKI gave the seven-day incidence on Monday morning as 528.2. It was the fourth day in a row with a new record value.

The Robert Koch Institute (RKI) has again reported an increase in the nationwide seven-day incidence and thus a new high. The RKI gave the value of new infections per 100,000 inhabitants and week on Monday morning as 528.2. For comparison: the day before the value was 515.7, a week ago it was 375.7 (previous month: 413.7). The health authorities in Germany reported 34,145 new corona infections to the RKI within one day. This emerges from figures that reflect the status of the RKI dashboard at 4:57 a.m. A week ago there were 25,255 infections.

RKI: More than eight million detected infections

According to the new information, 30 deaths were recorded across Germany within 24 hours. A week ago there had been 52 deaths. The RKI has counted 8,000,122 detected infections with Sars-CoV-2 since the beginning of the pandemic. The actual total number is likely to be significantly higher, as many infections go undetected. The RKI gave the number of corona patients admitted to clinics per 100,000 inhabitants within seven days as 3.23 on Friday (Thursday 3.09, Wednesday 3.13). It had risen again for the first time in a few days. It will not be published at the weekend.

115,000 corona deaths

The RKI gave the number of recovered people on Monday as 7,000,000. The number of people who died from or involved a proven infection with Sars-CoV-2 rose to 115,649. In November, the federal and state governments had defined the so-called hospitalization incidence as the decisive benchmark for tightening the corona measures. This value indicates how many people per 100,000 inhabitants are in the hospital within seven days because of a corona infection. According to the latest RKI report on Friday, the hospitalization incidence nationwide was 3.23.
