The RKI has changed the measures against the corona virus. From now on, the quarantine will be shortened. And the recovered status is only recognized for three months.
The regulations in the Corona Ordinance have changed again. Anyone who has been infected with the corona virus and has now recovered must now be prepared for the fact that the status is short-lived. As reported by the RKI and the Federal Ministry of Health (BMG), . After that, a booster vaccination is recommended. The regulation came into effect on January 15.
Current recommendations still require proof of recovery by a positive PCR test. The result must not be older than 90 days. If the period is exceeded, those who have recovered must also undergo a booster vaccination. Previously, the recovered status was recognized for six months.
In addition, the RKI also publishes . The isolation period is reduced to ten days for infected people and their contacts. After seven days, those affected can also “test themselves” with a PCR or an antigen rapid test, according to the BMG website. Stricter requirements apply to employees in medical and nursing facilities. They can only end their quarantine after seven days with a PCR test. Anyone who is symptom-free for 48 hours can also go back to work.
Quarantine exceptions
Excluded from the quarantine are:
- triple vaccinated, i.e. people who have received both the first and second vaccination, as well as a booster
- recovered
- Individuals who have been double vaccinated
- Recovered with a booster vaccination
- Individuals who have been vaccinated with the Johnson & Johnson vaccine and have also received a booster
It is important to note that people who have had an infection or who have received the second vaccination are only exempt from quarantine for three months after the second vaccination or after the illness. All others are permanently exempt from quarantine. All changes are effective as of January 15th.
