According to the RKI, the proportion of people returning from travel in Germany has recently continued to increase. Most recently, the virus came from these countries.
Bavaria’s Prime Minister Markus Söder has pushed for a general test for travelers returning from abroad from August 1st. And SPD politicians were also open to the idea of testing not only air travelers but also those traveling by car and train. There is great fear that holidaymakers will bring the virus home with them – possibly even in a new variant.
The corresponding weekly report from the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) shows how large the proportion of people returning from the journey was in the recent infection. Accordingly, the secured proportion of those returning from abroad among the total number of infected people has continued to grow in recent weeks. This shows “an increasing role of travel-related cases in the current infection rate,” says the RKI.
