“ADHD is a fashionable diagnosis,” “ADHD grows,” “ADHD is caused by trauma” – these and other statements are heard by people with one Aattention-DefficiencyHhyperactivitySdisorder regularly when discussing their diagnosis with non-affected people. Some claims are completely false. There is a kernel of truth in others.
You can tell whether a person has ADHD
Incorrect. ADHD has no external identifying characteristics. Even seemingly typical behaviors that are associated with ADHD (restlessness, fidgetiness, distractibility, etc.) are not a signal that it is ADHD. And conversely, people who do not show these characteristics can also have ADHD.
