Stiftung Warentest also tested electric toothbrushes and (ultra)sonic toothbrushes in 2024. The test winner comes from a well-known manufacturer
Stiftung Warentest continually tests electric toothbrushes and examines them with regard to the criteria of tooth cleaning, handling, durability and environmental properties. In the December issue of the magazine you can read the current 2024 test from Stiftung Warentest, for which 13 new electric toothbrushes were examined, in addition to those that have already been tested. You can view the total of 56 tested models online.
There are three types of electric toothbrushes on the market: rotating-oscillating models, strongly vibrating sonic toothbrushes and ultrasonic toothbrushes. Everyone was taken into account.
Stiftung Warentest: These electric toothbrushes will impress in 2024
The conclusion of the current test: “The tests by Stiftung Warentest show: Good models can be had for less than 50 euros. And they are sometimes hardly worse than brushes for several hundred euros.” Also exciting: No model received a grade of “very good”, the worst one received a rating of “satisfactory”. That means: No toothbrush particularly stands out, neither in a positive nor in a negative sense.
In the current test, however, some models scored “good”. The top grade was 1.9 . She impressed in almost all categories. In terms of durability, it even received a rating of “very good”; The non-replaceable battery was probably the reason why it was only rated as “satisfactory” in terms of environmental properties.
According to Stiftung Warentest, the model is still worthwhile . The toothbrush is already available to buy for around 25 euros. It received an overall grade of 2.3 and offers good value for money. Another often recommended manufacturer is Philips. The also shows consistently positive results at Stiftung Warentest. Teeth cleaning is particularly effective, and the sound-vibration technique is also highlighted. But here too the battery is not replaceable.
