According to the RKI, the proportion of people returning from travel in Germany has recently continued to increase. Most recently, the virus came from these countries.
Entrants to Germany who are older than twelve years should prove from Sunday that they have tested negative, have been vaccinated or have recovered. According to the Federal Ministry of Health, the cabinet should adopt a corresponding ordinance on Friday by circulation.

The corresponding weekly report from the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) shows how large the proportion of people returning from the journey was in the recent infection. Accordingly, the secured proportion of those returning from abroad among the total number of infected people has grown in recent weeks. This shows “an increasing role of travel-related cases in the current infection rate,” says the RKI.

The overview shows: Most of the infected return travelers recorded came from Spain, followed by Turkey and the Netherlands.
Background: In the reporting weeks 26 to 29 (June 28, 2021 to July 25, 2021), 31,359 cases were reported to the RKI, of which, according to the report, 13,241 cases (42 percent) were not given any information on the likely country of infection. A probable infection abroad was reported in 3,662 people (around twelve percent of all reported cases) – and the trend has recently been increasing.
