A child often has rattling breaths and infections. Is it germs from the daycare? Eventually the real reason is discovered: an annoying holdover.
A mother keeps taking her young son to the pediatrician. The reason: A rattling noise can often be heard when the toddler breathes. An infection is suspected but cannot be detected and the rattle does not go away with antibiotic therapy.
Coughing fits and shortness of breath accompany the now two-year-old boy. A cortisone spray and an acute asthma spray do not help either. When the boy’s breathing sounds creaking instead of seething one evening, the mother drives her son to the emergency room. A bronchoscopy and further examinations show the cause of the discomfort.
