We spend up to 7.5 hours of sitting every day. It is hardly surprising why millions of people suffer from back problems.
One shows that 77 percent of those surveyed suffer from complaints on the lumbar spine – i.e. in the lower back. These are often due to the too long remaining in an unhealthy posture, i.e. sitting static. In addition, there is a lack of exercise that goes hand in hand with millions of jobs. In order to relieve the intervertebral discs in everyday life and prevent long -term posture damage, healthy seating is more important than ever. This can be supported by a functional seating cushion: the beveled surface ensures that you automatically take an upright position on the seats and relieve your spine.
Who is a wedge pillow suitable for?
Your pelvis is tilted through a wedge on the chair, the lumbar spine is stretched and the intervertebral discs as well as the muscles in the thighs and the hip relieves. For this reason, the padded pad is particularly suitable for people who have to do their work while sitting – and therefore often suffer from chronic or acute back problems. In other words, the beveled seat cushion should always be used if you already want to suffer from pain in the lumbar area or want to strengthen your back muscles in order to prevent possible posture damage.

Buy seat cushions: You should pay attention to this
If you want to buy a wedge pillow for your (office) chair to relieve your back, you must pay attention to the following criteria:
- The foam should have the highest possible degree of hardness, otherwise it does not remain form -stable and it is too much to sink into the pillow with the weight – the support function is therefore no longer available.
- The cover of the wedge pillow should be removable so that you can wash it regularly. In addition, the fabric should be breathable and have knobs on the underside so that the pillow cannot slip away.
- The application should not be carried out all day at first so that your back can slowly get used to the changeover. Symptoms such as sore muscles or slight tension are normal at first, but should not stop.
- The seat increase should be adjusted according to your workplace. In other words, the office chair and – if possible – the desk must also be set according to the new height so that they continue to sit ergonomically.
