Images shared by the agency on social media showed landslides and fallen trees that blocked some roads after the quake.

The National Coordinator for Disaster Reduction in Guatemala reported material damage in the towns of Amatitlán, Totonicapán, Villa Canales, Sololá and Antigua.

“At the moment damage is reported in some houses and highways in the country,” he said.

The earthquake was felt in the early hours of this Wednesday in the southeast of Chiapas in Mexico and in El Salvador.
