Zelensky called statements about the dates of the “invasion” of the Russian Federation work against Ukraine

Statements about the dates of the alleged Russian invasion of Ukraine and the panic that occurs because of them work against the Ukrainian side. This was announced on Thursday, February 17, by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky to the RBC-Ukraine agency.

“For us, it’s definitely just a loss. Losses on all fronts. Even here is the position on a significant increase in wages Therefore, all these dates and panic – all this works against our country. It doesn’t even matter who is the subject of dissemination of this information. We understand that this also hits the Russians hard,” Zelensky said.

According to him, such tension can last for a long time. At the same time, the Ukrainian leader added that Ukraine should not succumb to him. Zelensky also drew attention to the fact that Kiev should receive a guarantee system that is not inferior to that offered to NATO countries, as the process of joining the alliance is being delayed.

“NATO is, in fact, the only one of the existing security alliances today that Ukraine could join. There is an open door position for us there. But there is a long distance on this path – years and months, especially if there is an escalation,” the President of Ukraine said.

At the same time, Zelensky stressed that the meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin would definitely unblock relations between the countries, because the leaders at this meeting need to find a way out. According to him, during the meeting they would say what they consider necessary.

At the same time, the President of Ukraine added that the country does not need foreign troops on its territory, despite the alleged threat of Russian invasion. At the same time, as Zelensky clarified, the issue of recognizing the self-proclaimed Luhansk and Donetsk People’s Republics of the Russian Federation raises the stakes in the negotiations on Ukraine’s non-entry into NATO.

The Politico newspaper, citing analysts’ opinions, predicted a new date for the “invasion” – February 20, when Russia completes its exercises with Belarus. Press Secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov called the publication another fake.

Before that, on February 5, the British newspaper The Sun published an article stating that “according to American intelligence, Russia is ready to invade Ukraine at any moment, the publication assured that the attack was to take place on the night of February 16. The article was later edited. It was noted that the night passed quietly and there was no invasion.

On February 16, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova invited the US and British media to provide a timeline of all of Russia’s “attacks” on Ukraine this year in order to plan her vacation.

Western politicians and media representatives continue to spread numerous speculations about possible Russian aggression against Ukraine. The Russian side has repeatedly refuted such statements, emphasizing that it has no plans to invade a neighboring country.

On February 12, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, in an interview with US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, said that the propaganda campaign launched by the United States and its allies about “Russian aggression” against Ukraine pursues provocative goals, thereby encouraging the authorities in Kiev to sabotage the Minsk agreements and harmful attempts to resolve by force “Problems of Donbass”.
