With wind bursts of 137 kilometers per hour, Danas is expected to move during the night to the north through the western coast of Taiwan, the central weather administration reported in a statement.

In total, 2,853 people were evacuated, according to the National Fire Agency, of which the majority resided in mountainous areas around the port city of Kaohsiung.
Danas caused the fall of more than 500 millimeters of rain in the south of the island during the weekend, said the weather agency, which warned of strong rains in the rest of the island as the typhoon moves north. “From tonight until tomorrow morning there will be the greatest impacts of wind and rain,” he added.
Firefighters reported at least 10 landslides and 49 flooded areas, although water has already removed. Some 28 people were treated for minor injuries, they added. In Taiwan, tropical storms between July and October are frequent.
