Fatal collision on the B3, children seriously injured

A fatal accident occurred yesterday on the B3 in Langenstein. Two cars collided head-on, and a 40-year-old died at the scene of the accident. A 45-year-old and his two children in the other car were seriously injured. It was not yet clear yesterday whether the strong storm was a trigger for the serious accident.

It was around 2.45 p.m., the 40-year-old from Sankt Pantaleon was driving his car and trailer on the B3 from Linz towards Perg. Suddenly he lost control of his vehicle and ended up in the oncoming lane. There was a 45-year-old Turkish citizen from Schwertberg with his two sons, seven and twelve years old, on their way to Linz. There was a collision.

The 45-year-old was able to free himself from the car. His sons were rescued from the vehicle by a witness, a 58-year-old Bosnian from Linz. The 40-year-old was trapped in his vehicle and succumbed to his injuries at the scene of the accident.

The Turk and the twelve-year-old son were taken to the hospital by the ambulance. The seven-year-old had to be taken to the children’s hospital by emergency helicopter. The Langenstein and Luftenberg fire brigades were deployed.
