Since the extras are supposed to represent the inhabitants of the state of Panem, they need a “natural and expressive look”. Obviously colored or scanted hair is as unsuitable as permanent makeup, lip filler, solarium tan, solid braces, tunnel earrings, piercings and tattoos in visible parts of the body. “A large part of these district residents is told as severely malnourished, so we are primarily looking for very slim and thin body types.” People with visible scars or amputations are also expressly desired.

Babies would also be needed for some scenes, and Chinese -born people should be seen in other situations. “We also need women and men with basic military training,” said Weber. Applicants should also be willing to have their hair cut with the costume and mask sample. Interested parties would therefore be asked to grow their hair until mid -September so that the desired look can be implemented accordingly.
