The Union Gschwandt celebrated one of the biggest surprises in the past season in the football sub-house: the championship title in the Landesliga West. It was not until 2022 that the club rose from the Traunviertel to the Landesliga-with the 2-1 in the final round near Neuhofen, the “Gschwandtner Buam” celebrated the first promotion to the Upper Austria league in their 57-year club history.

A real heartbeat finale was necessary for this football fairy tale: In the meantime, the eleven of master coach Lukas Huemer even lost the place at the top: Gschwandt fell in Neuhofen 0: 1, almost at the same time the second promotion rival Andorf scored the 2-1 lead in the table in the table. Gates from Mislov and Tarik Ramakic ultimately made everything clear for Gschwandt. “The championship title was by no means planned, but we were able to play for a long time without pressure. This developed a real dynamic. A great team, a great coach, a suitable environment, the necessary happiness – everything together led to this historical success,” says section head Michael behind.
Especially at home, his team laid the foundation stone for the title: In 15 games, 13 wins and two draws were fetched, they remained undefeated. With a total of 68 goals, Gschwandt also provided the best offensive in the league.
Chokchev takes over
The highest league in the federal state will tackle new faces with new faces: top striker Tarik Ramakic goes to Gmunden, and defense chief Kevin Prielinger (Bad Wimsbach) also left the club. Returner Nedim Rizvanovic (Schwanenstadt), Nikolay Borisov (Hertha Wels 1b) and Stefan Milojevic (Thalheim) should close these gaps. In addition, ex-Gmunden coach Kiril Chokchev master coach Lukas Huemer, who has switched to Weißkirchen. The goal in the first OÖ league year is clear according to the back: “Anything but relegation would be measured.”
