The head of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR), Denis Pushilin, announced the sabotage.
As Sergei Tsekov, a member of the Federation Council Committee on International Affairs, pointed out in an interview with Izvestia, the DPR decision to evacuate residents was made in order to avoid civilian casualties against the backdrop of a deteriorating situation.
