“On a reduced scale,” says the President of Austria’s most traditional car show, Michael Schmidt.
The car show will open on the weekend of March 19th and 20th at the Linz Design Center. So on two instead of three days. The traditional VIP evening on the Thursday before the opening has been removed from the programme. Just like the tent in front of the dome construction is not set up. According to Schmidt, these measures are necessary because the preparation time is too short. Because the government had only reduced the corona measures in the previous week in such a way that the car show was possible at all.
In the short term, the VW Group brands made a U-turn. The people of Wolfsburg – and thus also the Porsche Holding Salzburg – refrained from car shows during the pandemic. Suddenly there was a promise for the springtime: VW, Audi, Seat, Skoda and Porsche are exhibiting their latest models in the Design Center.
From the ÖAMTC to the Club-Mobil
And the rest is also on board as usual: from the ÖAMTC to Linz AG (e-mobility) to the Club-Mobil (conversions for the disabled). The electric brands MG and Polestar are new. How ever the car spring this time offers an extremely electrified program. Because the dealers consistently put their new e-models in the foreground.
The Linz Auto Spring will be open on March 19th and 20th, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
