Three people were killed in an explosion at an explosives factory in the Argentine city of Olavarría in the province of Buenos Aires. This was reported by the Clarin newspaper on Friday, February 18.
According to the company Enaex, which owns the plant, the explosion occurred in the warehouse sector while unloading a batch of detonators.
In addition to the three victims, there is another victim – a truck driver. At the moment he is under the supervision of doctors, but nothing threatens his life.

The causes of the incident have not yet been established, but representatives of Enaex explained that the company has already launched an investigation into this matter.
The explosion at the enterprise was commented by the mayor of Olavarriya, Ezekiel Ghali. In his Twitter he expressed condolences to the families, friends and colleagues of the victims, and also announced the cancellation of traditional carnival processions in the city. Gali stressed that in the near future all forces will be directed to the elimination of the consequences of the explosion and the clarification of the circumstances of the accident.
“We have to prioritize,” he explained.
Earlier, on February 14, an explosion was reported at a dynamite plant in Poland. The incident occurred while working with nitroglycerin: the substance detonated when mixed. The explosion completely destroyed the factory building. Two employees of the enterprise went missing as a result of the incident – their fate is still unknown.
