In the Uzbek city of Navoi, on February 19, a grandfather and granddaughter fell off an escalator. The man died on the spot. The incident took place in a shopping center, the press service of the Department of Internal Affairs of the Navoi region reported.

At the moment, it is known that a 53-year-old resident of the Karmaninsky district was holding his three-year-old granddaughter in his arms and, going down the escalator in the shopping center, lost his balance. “As a result of the incident, the man died on the spot. The girl with injuries was hospitalized in the regional multidisciplinary children’s medical center, ”the Navoi Region Department of Internal Affairs says on social networks.
On November 27, a three-year-old child fell off an escalator from the third floor in the Tyumen shopping and entertainment center. He landed on an artificial tree and then on a tiled floor.
In September, a two-year-old boy was cut off the phalanx of his finger on an escalator in one of the Kaliningrad shopping centers on Soglasiya Street. The man dropped the child out of the stroller, and he fell on the first step of the escalator. His hand got caught under the step limiter.
