The police were alerted around half an hour after midnight and informed that a 22-year-old man from Graz had been injured with a knife in Mondscheingasse. The man said he was attacked with a knife by two unidentified women. He had suffered numerous cuts and stab wounds to his upper body, head and neck.
An alarm search was triggered, and a patrol discovered a second victim near the Radetzky Bridge, who had been attacked with a knife by the women. The 17-year-old Iraqi, who lives in Graz, was also injured, but not as badly as the 22-year-old. The descriptions of the perpetrators of the two victims matched, the duo was caught by a patrol and taken to the police detention center at Paulustor. The murder weapon – it is likely to be a kitchen knife – was secured.
Nothing is known about the motive. “It is certain that the women did not know the two men,” said a police officer to the APA. The two alleged perpetrators are also likely to have started a small fire in Mondscheingasse, but more details on this had not yet been determined.
