The proposals resulting from the summit will be presented at another meeting that will be given in during the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly, scheduled for September, in New York.
From the Chilean government they added that they will propose “Roads to strengthen social cohesion, reduce inequalities and face disinformation diffusion.”
For his part, the president of Spain, Pedro Sánchez, stressed: “Five progressive voices, the same commitment. Today I will travel to Chile to address the risks facing our democracies. We work with the conviction that democracy is the Best path for peacethe social cohesion and opportunities for all“
This meeting was planned within the framework of the 79th UN General Assembly, during a meeting against the extremisms led by Lula and Sánchez.
The summit takes place less than two weeks after entering into force –On August 1 – the new tariffs announced by Trump to, among others, the European Union, Brazil and copper imports, which will affect Chile, the great supplier of metal to the United States.
