A Sky9 Chopper helicopter of the Huntington Beach Police Department crashed into the water in the California city of Newport Beach, two pilots were hospitalized. This was reported on February 19 by the press service of the police in Telegram.
The first reports of the incident came just after 18:45 (05:45 Sunday Moscow time) on El Paseo Street. Dozens of vacationers on the beach watched the helicopter crash.
Huntington Beach police later confirmed the crash. Both pilots were rescued and hospitalized, CBS Los Angeles reported, citing authorities.
The circumstances that caused the accident are being clarified.
Earlier Saturday, a helicopter crashed into the ocean near a beach in Miami Beach, Florida. According to the police, three people who were on board were hospitalized, nothing threatens their lives. The pilot is in a stable condition, and two passengers suffered back fractures.
