Before Kaltenbrunner reacted to winning the cabaret prize with the words “I’m speechless”, he eloquently captivated the audience in the Enns town hall on Saturday evening – and also entertained him with stories about his rich ex-girlfriend and his new life as a single . At first he couldn’t believe that he had actually won: “There was a lot of laughter. But we generally laughed all evening tonight.”
The other finalists of the annual competition, Chrissi Buchmasser, Die Schullerin, Gerald Kaiser, Gilbert Blechschmid and TubAffinity were also successful. Apart from competition, this year’s show act BlöZinger and moderator Clemens Maria Schreiner had a lot of laughs on their side.
Kaltenbrunner not only received the small art potato trophy for his victory, but also appearances in the Kulturhof Linz and in a format of ORF III. His plans as the winner of the cabaret potato: “I will continue to write my programme. I would like to have that finished in autumn and then there should be a premiere. I can already reveal this much: Upper Austria and my home village in the Mühlviertel will play a role in the program.”
The Ennser Kleinkunstkartoffel was recorded for ORF III and is scheduled to be broadcast on March 3rd at 10:50 p.m. The competition will be held again next year. The cultural association Pa-Events is now accepting applications from cabaret artists.
