The garden is called “greenward” with which Anna Maria Dieplinger from Altenberg applied in the garden election in 2025. The lovingly designed 300 square meters high above Linz prove that no garden is too small so as not to give joy (and work).
“Others make yoga, I plucking around in the garden every day,” says the 55-year-old, who at the state of Upper Austria, as managing director, the nursing and care centers in the Schlössern Haus, Cumberland and Gschwendt and manages the Christkindl house in Garsten.
The “herbal trilogy”
Dieplinger has a soft spot for French summer evil and cooking. That is why she not only has her “French herbal trilogy” rosemary, thyme and sage a prominent place, but it also prolifers kitchen laurel. Lavender and Rucola stretch to the sun, fig and olive trees compete with eucalyptus.
A small, fine pool, lined with elephant grass and a flowering aloe vera as an eye -catcher, makes the garden happiness perfect. Decorative Herzblatt lines feel comfortable in very shady areas. Glycinia brag about their blue splendor. Next to it is a garden table where many space has, with dishes in Mediterranean colors.
Steeply on the side of the family home, the vegetables in the Wacker raised bed asserts itself against the snail invasion.
Anna Maria Dieplinger believes the eaters twice a day and also uses her “secret weapon”: she has built a wall from wood wool around the only planted salad shoots.
