The OÖ Nachrichten have put together a few tips for bringing variety into everyday life together with children.
If the weather doesn’t go completely crazy, a trip into nature during the semester break is certainly worthwhile, whether on a skateboard, scooter or bike. The Innviertel offers a wide range of activities for hikers. For example, a hike to the Haugstein, at 895 meters the highest point in the Innviertel, is recommended. The so-called “Haugstein Circuit”, a circular hiking trail, is recommended. The starting point is at the municipal office in Vichtenstein. A good level of fitness is required for the ten-kilometer hike with around 350 meters in altitude.
If you prefer something quieter and more relaxed, you are in good hands in the indoor pools in Ried and Braunau and of course in the Geinberg thermal baths with a water surface of more than 3000 square meters.
Sauna and bathing in Ried
Ried leisure pool, Volksfeststrasse 14, Ried
A visit to the leisure pool in Ried during the semester break is ideal for a relaxing day. The bathing world with swimming and warm water pools is open from Monday to Sunday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.

The sauna area is open daily from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. and closes at 9 p.m. on Sundays. The 3G rule applies to entry, and antigen tests are also valid.

Design, solder, marvel: holiday program in the KTM Motohall
KTM Motohall, Mattighofen
The KTM Motohall wants to offer variety during the holidays with its own program for young visitors: Among other things, the children can design motorcycles of the future on the design board and then cut them out using the laser cutter or have them printed directly in 3D. There is also doodling – with a bit of imagination and melted plastic that replaces the crayon.

The created masterpieces can be taken home. The workshops also take place during the week during the holidays. Registration at ktm-motohall.com/tickets
The Motohall can be visited directly after the workshops or individually. A kids audio guide has just been created for young champions.
