But it doesn’t have to get that far. All it takes is a little imagination. For example, why not let the compass decide on the map? Set the radius to 25 kilometers, pierce where you live, draw the circle and see what you don’t know about it. A ruined castle? A museum?
Or take a night hike! Be amazed at how your eyes can get used to the darkness – and all this perhaps combined with a spooky story?
Who hasn’t dreamed of sending a message in a bottle on its way? Let your child think about what he wants to put out into the world. The artistic design alone can take hours. And don’t forget to include the date!
An indestructible classic is the good old scavenger hunt, which works just as well indoors when the weather is bad: lure the child from piece of paper to piece of paper with riddles, in between with additional tasks, collect leaves from three different types of trees or spell your own name backwards, for example.
And if you want to go on a trip to the Salzkammergut: We have five tips ready!
