Did you know that the Mariendom in Linz also has its own range of activities just for children? It does – and the program of special tours during the semester break sounds somewhat tempting even for older semesters (see below).
At the circus you already know more about what to expect. One of these will be making a guest appearance with the Circus Alex Kaiser from February 23 at the Urfahr fairgrounds. The two-hour program includes high-wire acrobats The Los Ortiz, aerial net acrobat Andrea Navratilova, clown Bartolini and chef Alex Kaiser with his Dutch Friesian stallions. Incidentally, Wednesday is Children’s Day, where children only pay 5 euros for all seats except for the box. And on Thursday, on Family Day, adults pay the children’s price. Information: 0660-6150116.
If you prefer to be active yourself, we recommend a round of ice skating in the Parkbad, where the ice is still cool and hard even when the temperatures are warmer. Speaking of the weather: if it doesn’t go completely crazy, a trip to nature during the semester break is certainly worthwhile. You can try your hand at skateboarding or a scooter between the New Railway Bridge and the Voest Bridge, or run around along the Danube. But that’s probably for older people.
In search of hidden treasures in Mariendom
Mariendom, guided tours for children
Children and families are offered three exciting guided tours of the Mariendom during the semester break in Linz. “Of pointed arches, rosettes and finials” it says on February 24th. “How detectives explore the cathedral” will be explained during a guided tour on February 25th, and “Hidden Treasures and Messages” will be on the program on February 26th. The guided tours start at 2.30 p.m.
