In the city of Avranches in northwestern France, an unidentified man interrupted the Sunday service in a Catholic church by shouting “Allah akbar”, the police are looking for him. This was reported on February 20 by the newspaper Ouest France.
According to eyewitnesses, at about 10:50 (12:50 Moscow time), 20 minutes after the start of the service in the Saint-Gervais Basilica, the attacker shouted praise, after which he ran away. According to eyewitnesses, it was a man of 25-30 years of Caucasian race.
The representative of the local gendarmerie, Charles-Guy Regnault, said that the man did not have a weapon with him. In January last year, Frankfurt Airport Terminal 1 and the railway station were blocked because of a man shouting “Allah Akbar”. As it became known, a 38-year-old citizen of Slovenia was stopped by a patrol due to the lack of a protective mask. He behaved aggressively and began to threaten that he would kill everyone, and also attempted to escape, while leaving his suitcase. As a result, he was detained, and the sector of the airport terminal was blocked because of his bag, in which nothing dangerous was found during the inspection.
