The duo was capsized and abolished near Rührsdorf in Wachau. Helpers brought the ancients to the bank, reported the district fire brigade command Krems. The incident happened in a side arm of the Danube, for which a flood warning was available. The two people were taken to the hospital.

Father raised the alarm
The accident happened around 5:45 p.m. Two other family members – the father and another son – were also traveling with a kayak. The man had alerted the emergency services. Firefighters climbed into the water- secured with rescue vest and linen and were driven to the shipwrecked. However, the mother and the boy continued to be carried away by the strong current and could only be secured further down the river by emergency services.
