ARBÖ and ÖAMTC expect one of the busiest weekends of the year. The reason for this is not only the start of the holiday in Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg, but also two major events: the Formula 1 Grand Prix in Budapest and the Villach church day.
Stau-hotspots on A9, A19 and Fernpass route
Saturday is the main day of travel, but from Friday afternoon significantly increased traffic volume is expected. The known problem areas are again particularly affected:
- A1, West Autobahn: Large Salzburg area
- A4, East Autobahn: Nickelsdorf border position
- A8, Innkreis Autobahn: Grenzstelle Suben
- A9, Pyhrn Autobahn: Matters Bosruck- und Gleinalmtunnel, construction site Kalwang- Mautern, border playing field
- A10, Tauern Autobahn: Raum Salzburg, in front of the St. Michael toll in Lungau and in front of tunnels, e.g. Oswaldibertunnel near Villach
- A11, Karawanken Autobahn: Before the Karawankentunnel
- A12, Inntal Autobahn: Large area Innsbruck, Kufstein/Kiefersfelden border
- A13, Brenner Autobahn: entire course, especially large area in Innsbruck, in front of the Schönberg toll point and in front of the Luegbrücke construction site
- B177, Seefelder Straße: entire course
- B179, Fernpass Straße: Between Füssen (Bavaria) and Nassereith
ARBÖ and ÖAMTC recommend that you completely avoid Saturday as a travel day and only to start in the early morning or late evening hours.
