The seven-day incidence was 2,186.4 cases per 100,000 population, the Interior and Health Ministries reported. The federal state with the highest seven-day incidence is Lower Austria with 2,402.2, followed by Upper Austria, Vorarlberg and Vienna (2,330.4, 2,246.5, 2,173). This is followed by Styria (2,167.9), Tyrol (2,061.8), Carinthia (2,050), Salzburg (1,866.9) and Burgenland (1,494.2).

Since the beginning of the pandemic there have now been 2,494,535 confirmed cases in Austria. Deaths were registered in the past seven days 202. In total, the pandemic has claimed 14,594 lives in Austria, so far 163.4 people per 100,000 inhabitants have died of or with Covid-19. 2,310 people with a corona infection were in the hospital on Monday, 76 more than on Sunday. 189 people were cared for in intensive care units, three more than yesterday. Within a week, that number dropped by eight people.
According to the data from the e-vaccination card, 6,790,689 people have received at least one vaccination so far. 6,237,529 people and thus 69.8 percent of the population have a valid vaccination. 2,396 vaccinations were carried out on Sunday, of which only 173 were first bites (7.22 percent). In the past seven days, 5,112 initial vaccinations have been carried out. 1,508 third bites on Sunday were 62.94 percent of all vaccinations carried out. A total of 35,426 third stitches were administered within the past seven days.
Vaccination rates by age group: 67.8 percent of those aged 12 to 24 have a valid vaccination certificate, 69.1 percent in those aged 25 to 34 and 71.6 percent among those aged 35 to 44. 74.2 percent of people between 45 and 54 years are verifiably protected against the consequences of Covid-19 with a certificate, 81.9 percent in the group 55 to 64. The 65 to 74 year olds have a rate of 85.8 percent , the 75 to 84 year olds 88.9 percent and the group 85plus 85.1 percent. 13.6 percent are shown for children up to eleven years of age.
303,578 rapid PCR and antigen tests were newly registered, of which 221,057 were PCR tests. All in all, there are now 201,233,977 corona tests carried out. The positive rate of the PCR tests was 9.7 percent, this 24-hour value is well above the average of the past week, when an average of 4.7 percent of the PCR tests were positive.
