According to the police on Monday, several customers wanted to sneak a recovery certificate. The main suspects did not collect any money for passing on saliva. A total of ten people were reported, including two women aged 36 who are said to have acted as distributors.
The police got on the trail of the two main suspects after a report was made to the police station in Herzogenburg (district of St. Pölten) on January 17. Infected samples were secured during house searches, and a total of ten suspects between the ages of 26 and 61 – four men and six women – from the city and district of St. Pölten were found.
Foreign saliva for certificate of recovery
A man and woman, each aged 32, are said to have received saliva samples and given them to testing sites for a positive result and subsequent certificate of recovery. The duo was given another sample in order to be able to bring about positive results again after the certificates had expired. A 61-year-old received saliva for the same purpose.
Samples also went to two men aged 26 and 36 and a 33-year-old – however, according to their own statements, this trio actually fell ill with Corona before the crime was carried out. The ten suspects are reported to the district court of St. Pölten.
