Everything is as always, and yet a little different than usual: For the 19th time, the international Josko run meeting will take place in Andorf next Saturday. National and international top athletes as well as the domestic youngsters will offer visitors again with free admission this year. As usual, you will do that in the Andorf stadium. The peculiarity this year: The facility, which is one of the few sports facilities in Upper Austria for occasions of this kind, is currently being modernized over a large area. As reported, more than two million euros will be invested in the conversion of the stands and the subsequent clubhouse building. “Despite the construction site in the stadium, we can do the meeting as usual and without any problems. Thanks to the great support from the municipality of Andorf,” says the long-time organizer of the Josko running meeting, Klaus Angerer.
New records
The leading initiator of the meeting-which will also be put together this year in a proven manner by the Sportunion Igla Long Life-was able to finalize the registration lists at the beginning of this week and report a very gratifying message: With 65 starters in the 100-meter competitions of the men and 50 runners for women and 80 starters over 1000 meters, the meeting sets up a new participant record. In total, Angerer has more than 330 reports in his books. Among the numerous top athletes are in addition to fixed starters such as the domestic discus ace and freshly baked state champions Lukas Weißhaidinger from Taufkirchen or 100-meter-top sprinter Ferdinand Omannyala from Kenya also the German athlete Rebekka Haase. Haase and her team at the Olympic Games in Paris ran to bronze last year in the 4x-100 meter relay. In 2022 she won the EM-Gold season team.
