On June 29, Klaus Grünbart set a new Austrian best performance (21.35 seconds) at the European Athletics Team Championship of Division 2. Unsurprisingly, the 23-year-old Tumeltsham, who is launched for the ÖTB-OÖ, traveled to the Athletics State Championships in Eisenstadt last weekend with a lot of self-confidence. On Saturday, Grünbart finished in the 100-meter final with a time of 10.57 seconds. He remained only eight hundredths behind his personal best time in Regensburg on June 14th. This time was enough for second place. The victory (10.41 seconds) went to the Carinthian Lukas Pullnig. “The race was not entirely optimal. Nevertheless, I am second place and the time quite satisfied,” said Grünbart.
On the second day of the competition, there was again a duel between pullnig and green beard in the 200-meter promotion competition. With a time of 21.36 seconds, the nose was pulled out again. Grünbart crossed the finish line after 21.54 seconds. “It is a shame that it did not work for me as the very year -old with the state championship title,” said Grünbart, adding: “I will now take the experience from the competition into training.” The Innviertler will start at some meetings this year.
